Default Upgrading monitor

I am looking to upgrade my current 22" Envision monitor to a 24"-27" model (I might be selling my current one to a friend).

I am wondering what kind of impact I would see in performance by raising the resolution in my games from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200. I have 2 8800GTs in SLI that work very well on my current setup.

I am also wondering what brand/size monitor I should get. I know Dell monitors are very good but I was hoping to find something larger than 24" for a reasonable price ($300-$500).

This is a monitor I am considering: Dell 24" Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor

Thanks for any help you can give.
