Upgrades for Brother...XMAS Gifts

Ok so im debating between

The EVGA 6800GT and 7800GT Im more with the 7800gt

Now i need a new PCI motherboard
PSU *the one he has sucks
Processor im thinking maybe 3500 amd

he has 1 gb of ram so i guess thats all i need

Help me out guys Im not really up-to-date with the new computer hardware..Links are appreciated...

7800GT yes
get AMD 3700+
u will need at least 2gig of ram if u want to play the newer games on the highest settings
and psu...maybe a 450-500watt

with those high end components - 7800gt, high end amd cpu you really do need a good psu like a antec or thermaltake 450 - 550watt. 1gb should suffice but 2gb is always nice but not neccesary. Get a 3500+, they are very sufficient for todays games etc or if not get a X2 3800+ Toledo. They are really good.
