Do you know how to overclock? if not, you should learn, that'd help your choice a lot, especially with a socket 939 setup, you can save a lot from buying small and overclocking. My 3700+ (which i got for 65) is at 2.9ghz and it starts at 2.2ghz. There isn't a 939 single core processor at stock that can compete at this, I believe. Anyway, if you do get an opteron 165, you can get it pretty high up there, probably as high if not higher than a x2 4400+.

Ok I think I'm going with the 4400+ Toledo 2.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor because it appears faster and is only slightly more expensive than the 165 Opteron.

Then as per Deathawk's advice, I'll overclock the 4400+.

But, I heard that the Opty 165, may be more overclockable.

If money was not a factor, would you go with the Opteron or the Toledo?

Btw, you guys rock. Thanks for all the help.
