Default Upgrade

Looking to upgrade my Cpu, was looking at the Intel i7 988 extreme, its still a bit pricey, but i didnt new if intel is planning on anytime soon to come out with a new chip set, i dont wanna spend 1000 us jsut to have a new better chip come out 2 months from that, that is better

Do you mean the i7 980x? Intel is coming out with a new chip but it won't be better than that.

Actually the i7 2600k performs better on some apps and very close behind on others and the price should around $370. They should come out next week.
