About 2 years ago I built a custom gaming pc for online FPS such as Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 2, and others. I found my graphics card to not be the best, after playing these games that require a high performance PC. What I need to do is just to update my graphics card and ram, but maybe most of my core componets. What I have now is:

Heres the specs;

Motherboard: Mach Speed X-Caliber PT800DBP VIA Socket 478 ATX (INTEL ONLY!)

Video Card: NVIDIA GeforceFX 5700 LE 256MB

Processor: Intel Pentium 2.6 GHZ (A bit weak)

Harddrive: 400GB Maxtor ATA RAID (Plenty big)

RAM: Crucial Memory Ram Sticks (1 512MB and 1 256MB)

4 Fans in my case aswell, 3 inside and 1 big one outside the case, I get a good core temp and never overheat.

I thought this would be enough to get decent graphics but it wasnt. I'm thinking its due mainly to my weak processor. Does have any suggestions to place to buy decent PC parts at good prices? Mainly Im looking for a 3.0 or higher processor, maybe a geforce 6600 (
:cool: :) ) and some more RAM sticks.

up your RAM to 2gb, your graphics card to at least a 6600GT, and maybe your CPU to 3.0ghz.

so you have PCI-E or AGP?

Note: Being able to unlock pipes and vertex shaders is a gamble, some may be able to do w/o artfiacts some may. If you can find either of the 6800's in evga buy that.

dude, put together a whole new system, and just scavenge some parts in that current one, the parts you will be able to use most likely is the PSU and Case with fans, and ur monitor no doubt.

Agree with John. You should also be able to save your HD for your new system.

Good Luck!:p
