So my computer right now I was thinking about getting a new GPU. Would having a old motherboard have any problems with running a powerful card? Other than the power supply ofc because my PSU is already a strong one.

Current Specs:
GeForce 9800 GT
AMD Athlon (tm) II x4 630 quad core
12 GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate

I was looking at upgrading to the one of the NVIDIA 700/600 (preferable 700 series if motherboard supports?) series how should I go about doing this?

If I were to completely buy a new motherboard would it be ok to just move my old hard drive into my new one or is there a way I should do this?

Does anyone know how compatible/good my motherboard is for the current generation? Like is it outdated or **** because I bought it a few years back.

All of this talk about a motherboard and no model mentioned.....

Processor AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor, 2800 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

Just ran CPU-Z this is what came up under mainboard tab:
Manufacturer: FOXXCONN
Model: 2A92
Chipset: AMD 785 G
Southbridge: AMD SB700
LPCID: ITE IT8720
GI: PCI Express
Link Width: x16 Max supported: x16

I believe its a 550W PSU that's why I said I dont think it would be a problem regarding the power of the GPU.
