Default Updating current GPU questions

So my computer right now I was thinking about getting a new GPU. Would having a old motherboard have any problems with running a powerful card? Other than the power supply ofc because my PSU is already a strong one.

Current Specs:
GeForce 9800 GT
AMD Athlon (tm) II x4 630 quad core
12 GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate

I was looking at upgrading to the one of the NVIDIA 700/600 (preferable 700 series if motherboard supports?) series how should I go about doing this?

If I were to completely buy a new motherboard would it be ok to just move my old hard drive into my new one or is there a way I should do this?

Does anyone know how compatible/good my motherboard is for the current generation? Like is it outdated or **** because I bought it a few years back.

That's your CPU, not motherboard.

Yea that's your CPU. Download the standalone CPU-Z and check the motherboard tab for the info you need on that.

Your setup is fine depending on PSU you actually have.

It is, but what PSU do you actually have?

By setup, I meant the motherboard and processor will be fine with a modern GPU.

I believe its a 550W PSU that's why I said I dont think it would be a problem regarding the power of the GPU.
