He's not being rude, Poon, relax. He just made a funny remark. I like people who address themselves elegantly, so keep it up. It shows class.

As for the buying parts separately, I agree with the others. Start saving, and when you reach a certain sum, invest it in the computer all at once.

In the span of a year computer tech moves fast enough so that a bleeding edge part ends up being only mid-range. You have to accept this fact if you're going into computer building.

Many people, offering many suggestions. But when you're sitting in your room with a computer with 55" spinners (unnecessary everything, totally overkill) i'll be dipping into my account with the thousands of dollars that have been compounding over the years through my laptop on my yacht. lol.. do you really want to have two 8800s?

I second this statement! I want to be able to eat and I still have the Laserdisc project to do.

I have decided that it would be kosher for me to keep this pc under $1,000 if possible. I hope this is still enough cash to get a good quality pc. Please tell me what you guys think.

Thank you all. You are so great.

Well, You won't have the best system but you would be able to splash into a fast affordable PC. What I would do is spend just a little more though but it is all up to you man. One of the best or a decent but outdated PC in a year or two.

I think I went a little over but this is the best system that you can have around a $1000. Since I added the moniter. I would go anything other than widescreen 20.1in but thats me, also 5-8ms refresh.

Edit:
The case is what you like, look at newegg for a full tower case that you like that has decent rating/reviews. My suggestion is to get one without glass siding because it scraches up very easy. If i could of boughten one without I would of. I hate the glass becasue of it, it is really only for show.

Moniter: SCEPTRE X20WG-Naga Black 20.1" 5ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 Built in Speakers - Retail

Suggested Case:
HENMING 901AD-BLACK-0 Black 1.0mm SECC ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail

But looker here for more

if you can afford to spend thousands, and need it for computing buy a physics processors

would boost the graphics by loads since it calculates how it would move in real life rather then following written rules like normal games which have boundries

monitor wise, well thats a deep question, do you want a million" monitor which you cant see, or maybe a visor?

this is pretty much un answerable, but interesting none the less =]

Which one out of that list is it?

And what monitor should I get?

And also I don't even know how to look for a good case!

Thank you Dr.
