Default Ultimate Gaming Machine

Im compiling a list of computer parts that I want to assemble for a professional counterstrike gaming machine. Now please dont reply with "you dont need THAT much power yatta yatta" because that just means you obviously arent at the level I am in CS-Source. Instead, I need the professional opinions of you ultimate computer enthusiasts.

Now I am neither an ATI/NVIDIA nor an Intel/AMD fanboy. I will simply buy what is best, without bias.

Here is the computer I have in mind so far, thoughts/suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Motherboard: NVIDIA nForce4 SLI (ASUS A8N32 SLI) - $224 (newegg)
GPUs: 2x GeForce 7900 GTX from Gainward (Bliss Special Edition) - $1048 (newegg)
RAM: (2)1GB Corsair XMS3200 (2-3-3-6) - $376 (newegg)
CPU: AMD Athlon FX-60 - $1015 (newegg)

lol SLI to play CS 1.6 hehe i could max out CS with my TNT2 ANYWAYS...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130279

2 SLI 7900GTX's only 1038...

You could also go with Crossfire X1900XT's/X but i dont know how they perform in crossfire and is crossfire any better then SLI

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231021

2GB's G.skill which can overclock around 270-280mhz for only 170 dollars...

FX-60, whatever it's your money but i would go with the Opteron 170/X2 4400+ and overclock it to 2.6Ghz and it would perform on par with the FX-60. Only difference is it doesnt have an unlocked multiplayer

so the ATI 1900's are a better choice? which crossfire motherboard is top of the line for this particular setup?

also, do you have any links to unbiased benchmark tests between the 1900 and the 7900?

I bet i could woop ur *** at CS source.

If your looking to satisfy your needs or get the extra edge, then invest in a good Mouse like the Logitechs or RAzer.

The optional gaming mouse pad.

So basically if your getting 60 FPS or over, then having SLI will mean ****!

So either be stupid and get SLI 7900GTX which will set u back like $1000 or a 6800GS which will have the exact same effect.

It also depends on what monitor u have, but a 6800GS should be able to cope.

drop the FX-60 and get the Opteron 170. You don't need SLI for CSS.

If your building the ultimate gaming machine how about finding the ultimate game first eh?

Looks good as is except change the RAM to this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145594

if you keep the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe. The memory boots @ 2-3-2-6 timing and is speciffically matched for that mobo. It's faster too. DDR433 vs DDR400.

Also check Zipzoomfly. They will most likely have better prices and they ship quickly. I bought most of my parts there.

Check my sig. I have almost the same system, except the SLI part.

no.. the 6800gs will not play everything full quality, when i had it up to 1280x1024 and i was in an hdr level the fps was only about 20-35 which is horrible at resolutions that big, i would suggest dual 7900 gt's instead of gtx's
