tv or monitor

Just finished building my computer and now would like a 24"wide screen monitor . I want to be able to watch TV on the computer too. Is it better to buy a monitor and get a tuner or by a TV that can hook up to the comp? Or doesn't it matter?

Get this Samsung, it has TV inputs and will operate like a TV if you hook your cable box or satellite box into it.

Well, a monitor with a TV card is cheaper than finding a TV with VGA compatibility. Plus TV's can only to up to 640*480, around there.

standard TVs can go up to 800x600 and HD TVs have quite good resolution but i agree. a monitor and TV tuner trumphs a TV.

Perhaps both of you need to check your information on NTSC and PAL.

So the resolution on a lcd tv is not as great as a monitor? So I wouldn't be able to play my games at 768x1024?
