Trying to upgrade my computer NEed help please

Hello i was wondering if i can get some help in upgrading my computer to a i7 gaming computer. I just need to upgrade my motherboard and my cpu and graphics with ram. Trying to make the upgrades under 500 is possible. But seeing that i want a i7 950 over 500 alittle is ok. What do you guys suggest for my to purchase for a upgrade. the main reason i want to upgrade is to play high graphic games. thanks for the suggestions.

so you need a Motherboard/ the i7,ram and a graphics card?.

what powersupply do you have? what operating system do you have? what case do you have?

thermaltake 1200w power supply and going to upgrade to win7 soon and i have a coolmaster cosmos s full tower.

now, the upgrade you are wanting to do isnt possible for around $500

the motherboard cost $200, the processor is around $240, ram is another $150 and the graphics card is about ( for a good one ) $400

so all in all, for the upgrade you are wanting to do itll cost around $1000 to do it right...

If you were to upgrade to i7 you would be green light across the board for the 5970

You have a good psu wattage and that upgrade is great so you'd be set.
