Default Time For A New Video Card?

I've been using the same card that came with my computer since I purchased it in 2004. It's an Intel (R) 82915G/GV/910GL. Is it outdated? Should I buy a newer video card?

Depends what games you play and what resolution you expect to play them on...

9800GTX or 9600GT

but honestly with a computer that old you may be better of building a new one, instead of upgrading just the video in that old thing. New CPU and ram will help too.

If you must put a new vid card in that one, I wouldn't put anything better than an 8600GT in it. Just not worth putting more money into it than that.

I don't plan on buying another PC until after college. I rarely use mine for gaming now anyway. I just wasn't sure how old my current card actually was.

I'm looking at this one right now, hoping to spend as little as possible on a quality card:

BFG Tech - BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 256MB PCIe

Dude that is basically on par with crappy 8600GT 512 GDDR2.

Even worse...

It performs like a 6800gs, not thats bad or anything, just a bit older...
