My son has been using a rather old hand-me-down laptop and it gave out the other day. He is pretty seriously bummed. Instead of throwing money at it (it is a MacBook Pro from around 2008) I though I could just build him a small machine that wouldn't have laptop type constraints if something went bad/wrong etc. Hopefully it is solid enough that he could upgrade over time as his needs change. Right now he mostly plays stuff like Terraria and occasionally stuff like Civ V. I don't have a super firm price ceiling, but when I put this list together I was fairly comfortable with the $422 it cost at the time. I have a case and an old (2013) EVGA 760. I am partial to Intel, but could be swayed. I have that PSU and I like it. The rest was mainly chosen because of cost and what I thought would work for compatibility. Thoughts? Thanks.
