Thinking about this Budget Build

How would an Intel E2160 at 3Ghz , 2GB Ballistix RAM , and an 8800GT make out for upcoming games like CoD4 and Gears of War?
Would be playing at 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024 ... just depending on the monitor I pick up.

Can't go wrong with what you have there. Get a DS3R and an after-market heat sink and you'll be in business!

That is of course if the 8800GT gets good reviews.

Sounds like a pretty good budget build. Just need to see what the price and reviews of the gt come out as.

that looks great.. may i recommend the e2180.. it overclocks impressively.. people have gotten pretty close to 4.0ghz on that chip because of the M0 stepping

The E2180 only has 1MB cache. But when overclocked to 3.6GHz or so, it should be equal to that of a C2D @ 3.2GHz with 4MB cache.

i thought the cache was pretty much useless unless you encode movies or something.... but that little chp is killer for sub-100$ because of that M0
