Are these components all compatible?

Nah nah sorry man. Im in Australia too. What area are you in, ill look for a local shop that has cheap 4850's.

Im in croydon, victoria. I've seen a few 4850 vs. 9800GT reviews and they all point towards the 4850, stating that the 9800 was basically just rebadged where as the 4850 had improvements. I was just deterred by the price basically.

Its just that most of the time you get an older card (remember a 9800GT is just a renamed 8800GT) that has 1GB, its usually slower than the cheaper 512mb model.

I think i had noted that earlier today in that video card ranking list. Thanks for reminding me - i had forgotten...

EDIT: Here, this place has 4850's for around $190 (generic though)
msy.com.au - Their site looks like crap but ive been to one of their numerous shops and they are pretty good.

Now THAT is crap web design. What do they think this is? The 1990's?

One question with regard to that card:

I've seen Saphire, palit, ATI, Force3D, HIS.

Well for the 4850 your choice is: Generic, Gigabyte or Asus.
Id say the Asus.

Or if your talking anywhere, then probably HIS.
