Default is there a reason for this recent graphics card price increase?

ive been watching ebay fro about 2 months and within last week or so I saw prices of low profile nvidia cards jump almost double in price

I thought that when new card comes out the old card prices drop

I could buy a gtx 1050 ti 4gb for about 160-180 new 2 weeks ago
now I cant find one for cheaper than 200 bucks from gigabyte
most of them are suddenly in 230-260 range

is this the "pre holiday" price increase so then they can drop the prices and pretend everything is on sale?

I see the Gigabyte one still for 184 on Amazon.

Lots of things going on in the PC world. Intel price hikes due to shortage, Nvidia pricing RTX cards too high making 1000 series relevant still, tariffs from China causing issue etc.

Dont forget crypto mining.. that is the largest factor on GPU prices currently.
