Is there a big difference?

the main difference is that the 6600 has 4mb L2 cache as opposed to the 2mb the 6300 has. you can oc the 6300's speed to the speed of the 6600 but you will still be missing the 2mbs of cache.

you can overclock the E6300 to the factory settings of an E6600 but the E6600 overclocks higher because it starts higher and has the extra 2mb cache. I'd spend the extra money and get E6600 but depends what your using the pc for

I love my e6600 ;). But a e6300(w/ a minor overclock) can beat a amd fx-62 (amd's current best processor), so any conroe is good. The difference is the extra l2 cache which adds better multi-tasking,and the multiplier you get with the e6600 (easier to overclock). I have seen ppl get to 3.4ghz on a e6300 with after market hsfs, so in the end your just paying for the extra cache. Its a matter of preference if you want that extra cache or not.
