I don't get it, why is the price so similar when one has like five times more stream processors or whater (whats a stream processor?)

So should I got with the 4850 or 8800gt? I can get the 8800 gt for 100 and the 4850 for like 160, if you recommend the 4850 which one should i get? they all look the same, with same prices, and same looks.

BTW I heard ati card stop working after a full year, does anyone know anything about this?

Now from the 4850 and then 4870 is there alot of difference in there too?
I assume the 4850 compared to the 8800GT
As the 4870 compared to the 280 GTX?

Forgot, do there cards really go up to 80C? dosent that require a SUPER good cooling case? AS far as I know, my alienware case does not have side vents, will this be a huge problem?

Do you think the double is worth it for the 4870? I feel its overpriced right now, just like the 280 GTX

I got the money to buy it, but not sure If I wanna go to that extreme. My motherboard will be the DS3P and I believe it does not handle any double video card.

The 8800GT folds faster, and stream proccesors from Nvidia cant be
compared to ATI cards. Nvida cards have less sp's, but they work harder.

The 8800GT came out December 07, so yes its an older card. Its still good though, can run
any game you throw at it well. The better value now for gaming only would be the 4850, but for folding/gaming an 8800 series card.

Well what should I got for, 8800GT 512 MB for 100 bucks
Or 4850 for 170?

I feel there is not that big of improvement all over the other, but you tell me, Should I got for the 4850?

Thanks. I gave you a kudo, no clue what that is tho.

Its like a thanks feature, but to stop spamming of it, a limit of 1 from one IP per hour

9800gtx is less than or equal to an HD 4850

8800gt is slower than a 9800gtx

So get the 9800GTX+ or the HD 4850

For $100 an 8800gt is excellent and will work wonderfully.

If you want to get something that will last a little longer then yes a 4850 is the way to go.

ATM the 4870 is still a bit too expensive. Once it drops below 250 I'll start readily recommending it.

Thanks, looks like I will go for the 8800 GT for 100 bucks.
My friend is selling it. same person that sold me the 8800 gt for my old rig, just that this time its 10 bucks cheaper lol
