what do you guys think of having a TEC like this Petra's Tech Shop
sandwiched between a quad core and a ultra-120 extreme or even an IFX-14?

It's not a thermal pad, it's like a thermal plate to transfer heat from one side to the other, using electrical energy.

Interesting idea, but where do you connect those wires?

for the tec? a dedicated psu, or your psu you use for your comp (if you have tons of watts)

yeah, you'll want 12 volts on that thing with about 19 amps of current, you'll definitely need a dedicated 12volt source for that - assuming full power (which is unlikely)

Peltier? I'd love to have one for the CPU and one for the GPU. Couple it with a nice wter cooling loop... yeah.
