Default swithcing mobo

I'm finally getting my 780i in about a week and I was just wondering if I should back up my HD's before switching my mobo. Am I just gonna have to do a repair on my OS or will I have to reinstall windows? I would guess just a repair but I just want to make sure.

It really depends. Sometimes you can get away with swapping boards with diff chipsets and not reformatting but It is definitely a good idea to do so.
