yea Salacon is right.

and i didnt mean about researching how to OC, its just the BIOS for the DFI is just advanced, u no? not that you dont know how to OC, OCing is really ez, its just i gues....the language is.......difficult?

i have now changed my position to gettin ght Conroe if ur buying in august, like me. i am going to get Conroe for Shiz.

I'm going to be waiting for Conroe to come out and then wait to see some benchies. I'm not planning on building until August at the earliest so hopefully I'll be able to have everything decided by then.

As long as Conroe can come out and be proven to be a good buy, I'll be buying it for my upgrade in August. I promised to give away my old stuff to my cousins, though, and I don't want to make them wait. Plus I'm sure the 4400+ or Opteron 170 would still be plenty good if I had to buy it.

I would suggest if you are not going for next gen. parts and plan on overclocking to go with an opteron 165 and the dfi nf4 ultra d motherboard. These two links show you how to volt and sli mod. The sli mod only requires a conductive pencil, very very simple. People can overclock the opteron 165 to 2.6 ghz stable 24/7 on air flow, its simply amds best bang for your buck processor.

dude, u want to no if conroe is a good buy, go to xtremesystems forums, some portugese guy OC'd his to 3.9GHz and get 12s in SuperPi to 1M places. and conroe seems to be a good OCer, as good as opterons, from what i seen, and is just better than AMDs.

oh no doubt conroe is better I was just saying if he isn't getting next gen parts to go that route, and salacon no not on stock cooling buy a quality heat sink fan like zalman cnp9500 and some as5 if you decide to get an opteron, best of luck to you!
