Suggestions needed for my budget gaming build

Hi. I haven't been on this site much since I built my comp almost 6 years ago and the time has come to build a new one.
My budget this time is very limited...around $1000.
Mostly for gaming (I need this for BF3...)
I have monitor,keys,mouse,etc. and also I don't need to buy any HDs and PSU (have OCZ 850w)
But I need everything else including OS and case.

This is basically as much as I can go.

I know its $180 for Ultimate but I need that for langauge options since I use multiple languages daily.
Maybe I should get cheaper case and use stock cpu fan to get i7 or better GPU... not sure...
All suggestions are very helpful to me.

After market CPU cooler isn't really necessary.
See if you can use your current computer's chassis for this rig as well.
Should bump your costs down quite a bit.

OK. I haven't look at the OS side much but as long as it works without hustle.
I really need a new case... been using 6 year old case that looks like bare bone white noise maker.
Of course there is no side panels and such things anymore...

boomstick the only thing I would do is get rid of the third-party cpu cooler, get a cheaper case, then get a better graphics card. Keep the cpu as an i5; and i7 won't help much for games.

I've narrowed down to those 4 cards. Which one do you think it's better?
They are basically between 480 and 570, both in same price range w and w/o super clocked.

I'd get the regular GTX 570. Super-clocked is useless in my opinion...if you really care about the slight difference that overclocking gives you for games, then overclock yourself.

That, and the 570 beats the 480 according to the Graphics Performance List:

That's only true if he isn't going to overclock so it all depends on if he is planning to or not

I might and might not OC. Depends on how it runs and how it will run in the future.
I don't think I'll OC just because it can handle it.
So if it needs to OC, I'll get after market cooler I think.

Ya sandy bridge is fast already...I don't think you'll really need to overclock, but yes, just see how it goes and if you want to, then invest in a cooler
