Instead of constructing an entirely new computer, I decided to try to see what I can do with just upgrades. Here is my setup (it's about 2 or 3 years old):

ASUS A8N-E Mobo
Corsair ValuSelect 1GB RAM
Asus 6600EN Graphics Card
2.4GHZ San Diego AMD64 Processor
250GB 7200RPM WD HD
Stock Thermaltake Tsunami (case) 500W PSU

I think the worst problem is probably the video card and RAM. Any suggestions on exactly what the worst part of it is and what to replace it with?

Is the video card onboard? Also, I don't feel like looking up that particual mobo, but does it have any PCI-e/PCI slots remaining? What's the maximum RAM supported and how many slots are there? It looks like you could easily up the powersupply and RAM. What socket type is this mobo? If its AM2 then you should be able to upgrade your processor to a newer dual core version.

Let me know the specifics and I'll look up some parts for you =)

It is Socket 939 and utilizes a single PCIE x16, single PCIE x2, 2 PCIEx1, 3 PCI.
The video card is NOT onboard. There are 4 slots available (paired for dual channel). DDR DIMM x 4 (Max: 4GB) PC3200/PC2700/PC2100 DDR SDRAM
