Currently have a GTS 250 1GB, looking at the 4890/5770 as only have a budget of around £150.

Just wondering which is better of the two or am I missing a great GPU in my price range?

Thanks.

I believe the 4890 has more raw processing power and the 5770 is a newer generation card which requires less power and has a bunch of other features.

Also, there will not be a dramatic performance increase if you were to change over from a gts 250 to a 4890/5770. The performance boost will be noticed somewhat, but not to the extent that it will be worth your money. Try selling you current card and putting that together with your budget to buy an even better card. Would you really want the gts 250 to rot?

Yeah you should just sell the GTS250 and put that together with your 150 and get something even better, like a 5830/GTX470/5850 if you can swing it. Or if you had something else in mind, the 5770 is the better buy between it and the 4890. It is DX11, consumes a whole lot less power, and produces much less heat.

Ok, after I sell the GTS 250, I'll have around £210. Whats the best I can get for this? Could squeeze another £70 is my guitar sells.

So could anyone give me 2 cards, one for around £210 and one for around £280 ish. Thanks again.

To post a selling advertisement you need to post a thread in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. You need a certain post count first to be able to do that.

What websites will you be looking to buy the card from?

Upped my budget a little more, definately looking at the 5850 or the GTX 465 now, local shop does a 465 for £220 and the 5850 seems to be around £250-£260 range, is it worth spending £40-£50 more for a little teeny bit more oomph? (If there is a bit more oomph that is, im not really sure which one is faster)

edit: 5850 is actually 230-250 my bad.
