I am sure this has been talked about before but all my searching and all my Googling has not really explained what I am interested in.

I recently bought an X2 4800+ Toledo and have the numbers:

ADA4800DAA6CD
CCBWE 0602CPMW
1398054A60330

Could someone explain what each section of numbers is? What is commonly the important part when people refer to the stepping?

Any ideas about what might be good steppings for the 4800+ Toledo?

Thanks for the information. :D

Ok :)

The first line I bolded the 4800 part becuase that shows your processor is a 4800 :D

now the second line is the most important.
From what I can tell you have a very good stepping. 602 shows good Overclocks.

Now the bottom line is your serial and if I were you I wouldnt worry about that now as you only need it for RMA and such.

I figured the 2nd line was the most important cause i have seen stepping postings in the past that look like it so that is what I had put in my sig :)

Still if you could break down the 2nd line piece by peice a little I would appreciate it. For example how do you know 602 is good? What does the rest mean? Sorry for the stupid questions.

EDIT: Oh for example one site was talking about ones with a "CG" stepping. Which two letters are they looking at?
