ssd recommendation between 2 choices

80ish MB seq write speed ain't bad on those Intel drives (even the fastest platter, velociraptor only pulls 100ish MB seq write speed)
due to it's puny drive size (compared with platter hard drives) probably aren't going to rip a 5 gig movie onto it very often
for day to day operations, those random read/writes are key
 
Intels don't have slow writes. They are a little slower at sequential write speeds than the Indilinx drives, but make up for it and more with random write speeds. The random write speeds of Intel drives are where they excel and that is what justifies a little higher price.

I was only talking about the x25-v not the regular ones, hence the quote in my original post. The intel x25-M's are obviously a lot better. I'd agree with your choice of the 80gb.
