SSD for laptop

I'm the loving the SSD I got for my new system - now I really want one for my laptop.
My question is, if I get an SSD which uses 6Gb/s SATA, will it dial back to 3Gb/s SATA (which my laptop has), if that's what the system has?
I'm not worried about not getting full use of it, since it will be more future-proof.
Thinking of getting an OCZ Agility 3 120GB.
