Hi,
Im wondering what parts to get for my new build, I dont know TOO much about computer parts. But now the Flight Sim X is out, I need to play it, as I am a commercial pilot. Anyways I need a computer that can run Flight Sim X at max setting with atleast 24FPS constantly, so help me choose parts to get it done. Budget is about $2,000 USD, and I am patient with my Flight Sim 04 for now... so if there's a better card for same price or something comming out before July then you can put that card or part instead.
Thank you.

Do you need a whole new build for around 2,000 huh? You can get quite a nice little gaming beast for that much and be able to play it with ALOT more than 24 FPS.

You're a pilot ey? That's awesome.

Yea, for 2k you can defiently build a killer rig.

I've heard the new flight simulator is very demanding, so you'll want one **** of a video card, I'd say get a 8800gtx and build around that.

Here's what I'd recommend for a computer that you want to run flight simulator on, (This is not including any output or input decices, just the computer)

XFX 8800GTX $589.99- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150205

ASUS P5LD2 LGA 775 $109.99- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131538

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 $512.00-

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB $209.00- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145590

ENERMAX Liberty ELT620AWT $149.99- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817194004

GIGABYTE 3D AURORA $129.99-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811233002

Samsung 400gigs $109 -

NEC DVD burner $29.99

Microsoft Windows XP Pro( Vista would only hurt your game performance right now, plus it comes with a upgrade certificate to vista)- $139.99

I checked the requirements for the new flight simulator, and it looks extremely demanding according to the review, so that 6700 and 8800GTX should do you just fine. Plus that' some awesome memory.

And the case looks fantastic.

Yea an 8800GTX with an E6300 or an E4300. Even though E6600 are nice they still are not needed for gaming.

E6400 (Sycthe ninja, Artic Silver 5, 120MM Fan)
ASUS P5B E
2 GB's Dominator DDR2 800
8800GTX
Corsair 520 Watts
Creative X-fi
(Two) Samsung DVD Burners (Plextor or optorite also)
74 GB Raptor (OS)
(Two) 320 GB Seagate SATA 16 MB Cache (RAID 1 or 0)
Antec 900 (Or whatever big case with Alot of Fan slots)

Whatever leftover you can spend on a nice Widescreen.

-2GB DDR2 XMS2 800Mhz RAM (Not sure which company though)

-8800GTX

-2 LG DVD+RW's

-CM STACKER Full Tower Case

-Gigabyte DS3 965P (Compatible with everything else?)

-Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM

-Antec SmartPower 2.0 500Watt

I already have a good keyboard, mouse, and joystick, screen and speakers.

Did you even take a look At my Build?
You Have 2 Grand, You can buy the best (Yes you can keep the E6600 instead of the E6400) which Is what I posted.
Right now, Samsung, Plextor and optorite are the kings in terms of quality. DVD Drives that is. Also the Heatsink I posted is Much better. The RAM you can find off zipzoomfly/tigerdirect or the manufacture site itself.
