Sound Card, USB headset, Reg headset.

My microphone jack on the back of my mobo is faulty so instead of replacing the mobo i have 2 options.
Buy a USB headset w/ microphone, or buy a jack headphone with a new soundcard. The soundcard would probably only be about 30 dollars. My question is will I get the same quality sound as onboard w/ a USB headset, or would I be better off buying the soundcard.

depends on what you will be doing.

if your wwatching moies or playing games or just using your sound for sound

connect your front audio ports on your case. if not get ready to go shoppint

buyt usb headset

buy sound card depending on your preference according to your post it doesnt seem you care about 5.1 6.1 7.1 or EAX. this option would be the best in my oinion because when you upgrade you can take your soundcar
