Default Sound Card/Speakers

My new rig is described in my signature. Can anyone recommend a good sound card and speakers. More specifically what do I need to look for and why shouldn't I use my onboard audio? Thanks in advance for your help.

It sucks.

Here:

Sound card ($135): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102005

Speakers ($106): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121122

Actually, is there a price to work around?

Nice soundcard I guess...but for the speaker I recommend these to almost anyone as they are all a gamer needs. Even just about anyone

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121006

as for the soundcard it depends..what is your budget?

Budget is fluid, looking more mid range than anything. This is goin in a small room so I didn't plan on goin more than 2.1. I am new to this so I'm kind of curious as to why a sound card is needed when MOBO's come with on- board sound. Fill me in please.

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=360409

BTW On board works great BUT if u play a game and the number of sounds get over like 20... ur FPS drops BIG TIME... with a true sound card it eleminates that problem...

I Just got the cheap Audigy from walmart like 30$ all u need if ur goin 2.1

So a cheap sound card will take away the FPS problem?
