hate to dispute that, but i will. whats the "max"?
dude it totally depends on the overclock ability of the chip as well as the overclock ability of the user. its not a "given" that an intel chip will reach 3.+++ whatever ghz. and if a 2180 dont break 3ghz, so sorry, a 6400 will outperform it.
my 3600 is a 60 dollar chip...and i get no breaks lol. but i still pwn s*** with a cheap *** processor.

amd has a beter line up of chips then they are given credit for, and when the phenoms are at recomended msrp they will be considerable aswell. i say a proc is only junk if it doesnt do what you want it to, if you buy a phenom and it does what you want it to then its a good cpu, if not its garbage, same goes for intel.
