whether or not you call it SLI is arbitrary.

Agreed... Call it what you will... names don't change the performance.

I don't know what the big deal is about quad-sli. Wasn't that a flop anyway? I thought two x1950XTXs in Crossfire could out-run two 7950GX2s. Heck, can't two 7900GTXs beat two 7950GX2s?

well they never went further with it because it ran into cpu limitation i thought.

It WAS only two 7900GTs together. Maybe now with quad conroes and 30" lcd, and DX10 games...they will make Quad-SLI or w/e you call it with 8900GTX's.

That would RIP... my goodness. That would be 5ish 88GTX's lol.

a quad 7950 gx2 is definitely not beaten by two measly 7900 gtx's as you can see http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/index...ki&tag=rmp_vds

although i do believe the 8800's are a bit exaggerated but i guess thats what the article says..one 8800 gts beats two 7950's

if u go a few months back when dell introduced quad sli you would remember seeing two sli bridges, on two proprietary 7900 cars, about 4-5 months later the cards were changed and made smaller and technically eliminated using the two sli bridges at the top. but it is still considered quad sli by many manufacturers. and yes games really do look good at 32xAA

Yea, the AA on the 8 series has improved, like the difference is very noticable.
