I am looking an possible building a new puter in the next 6 months. My current board is AGP so I am a little behind the times. Should I go with a SLI board? If I do; do I have to get two video cards? Or can I start off with one?

personally I don't think it is, only if you like gaming on very high resolutions with everything maxed.

one top end card can do plenty I have a 7900GS and core 2 duo E6600 and run games on max with no problems at 1280x1024, its just personal preference.

Is SLi worth it for gaming? two cards can add up.

Only if you have so much money that you can afford to purchase the best card and upgrade it every time a new one comes out.

as long as you get a couple of good cards for the SLi than it will be good. If you just get two 6800's you are wasting money and should just buy one real good card instead
