HD 4850 Crossfire.. it seems great

GTX 280 fails.. it sometimes does worse than 9800gx2, and you can outmatch it with dual 9600gt's

or you could get one HD 4850 and downgrade to 19''

I agree with Vern. Get the 4850 CrossfireX, because like I said in my post, it would probably have outperformed the 9800GX2 exclusively had it used an X38 board with the same Intel Processor as used in the 9800GX2 test.

Theres also the option of the HD 4870 or HD 4870X2, because I think they said the HD 4850 is 75% performance of the GTX280, so who knows how much more the HD 4870 or 4870X2 can do :)

I now officially regret ever saying buy a 9800gx2 and step up to GTX280 when it comes out..

guys i said ati isnt an option please, i want my question answerd no more ati recomendations, i sold my maximus and im keeeping my 750iftw might even step up to a 780i ftw when released. also please vote in the poll if you post.

SLI 8800gts g92, it'll outperform GTX280 anyways plus 8800gts g92 prices are in the gutter as it is :)

ya but to either a 790i for 100$ or a 780i for free, also i bought from a local retailer who is a good friend of our families they charge a litle more, but they are willing to up my receipt if need be, or even change the pruchase date :D so i could get a 790i for free possibly, but i dont want ddr3. im waiting on the 780i ftw.

i could also sell both monitors get a 24 inch and get a gtx280. if i sell my 8800gts itl cost me about 400$ to buy a gtx280, also remember that there hasnt been time for the drivers to develop at release the 9800gx2 strugled against an ultra if i recal, look at it now only what 2 months later and its killing the ultra.
