I have an evga 8600GT GDDR3 512MB newegg no longer has it so if i were to SLI would the brand be a problem? Say i were to get a XFX or something =\ Also Would 2 8600GT's beat a single 8800GT?

i don't believe that the brand matters. it might, im not an SLI expert. and as far as the 2 8600's its no comparison to a 8800gt.

A single 8800GT will mop the floor with two 8600GTs in SLI.

The brand doesn't matter. But I think the core and mem speeds have to be the same.

they don't have to be the same clocks.. because when you can still put a SC and a non-SC card in SLI.. but it scales more towards to the lower clocked card..

but the 8800gt blows the 8600gt in SLi
