im going to be dual booting linux and i have 160gb hdd. with my games and apps i currently use its around 70gb used. I want to add a slave hdd a larger one maybe a 750gb partitioned to 500gb for windows and 250gb for linux. i will partition my main drive of course but im concerned out how i should partition it since i use windows more and dont know when i can get a new hdd. but when i do what is recommended?

Default Re: slave hdd whats good?

you could either get a seagate 750gb 32mb cache hdd, or the 16mb version, actually you could get either seagate,Western digital or samsung they all are good. (32mb a little faster for 10 or so more (segate version 7200.11). as for the partions im not too sure, you can use programs like partion magic that help you configure your dual boot so i guess you could use that.
