Guys, something i never really noticed about this thread. It says that ONE 8800 GTX beats TWO X1950XTX's in crossfire. Not sure if that affects what anyone has said here but i haven't noticed it until now.

EXACTLY what I've been saying for the past few months! Thank god someone agrees. If you think that getting a 8800GTX right now is a goosd decision, you are either:

A. A moron
B. A nVidia fanboy
C. Both

Blowing $650 on a video card right now rather than waiting for 2-3 more months for something that could totally blow it out of the water is not exactly a stroke of genius.

But I gotta admit...that eVGA 8800GTX looks D*** sexy.

That's still 500 f****** dollars for a card that's not even top-of-the-line! You have got to be joking. THe R600 will probably be priced around that $600 - $650 range. If you're willing to fork over $500 for a next gen card, find $100 more to at least get either the 8800GTX or R600, whichever one wins out. Holy crap.

but once r600 is out....it will be 2-3 months before 8900GTX's destroy it. You can't win.

Exactly, if your waiting for the BEST product to come in 2-3 months you're never going to get anything, your just going to keep waitng. If people want to buy now let them.

You also have to put in mind, maybe someones already been waiting 2-3 months for the 8800gtx to come out, and now your telling them to wait ANOTHER 2-3 months for the r600.

8900 will not be out in 2-3 months... revisions of a series are not made that fast, the 7900 did not come out 3 months after the 7800 series, they're not gonna be able to make a brand spankin new core, and grab a hold of gddr4 in time to beat the r600 at launch.. so quit your dreaming, and accept the r600 will be better for a while
