I'm new to the forums here so I'd just like to introduce myself and say hi :)

I'm in the market for a new netbook for the upcoming holidays. I've never owned a netbook, so I don't know what to expect/look for. I was just wondeirng if anyone could point me to the direction of the best netbook out there according to my needs:
-around $400-$500
-preferably 10.1" screen
-windows 7
-at least 2 GB ram, or upgradable to 2 GB

I've been looking at the HP Mini 110, but since I really know nothing about netbooks, I can't know if it's a good machine.

Thanks in advance for your help!

you might want to move this to the laptop section.
do not get anything with less than a four cell battery. watch out for the early versions that have the celeron cpu. netbook celeron is different than a laptop celeron cpu. the 8.9 will be a little cramped for any lenghthy typing.
look for a 10.1 or 11.6 with the atom 280 cpu. the 270 cpu are cheaper.
there are only a few out now that have windows 7. i dont recommend the windows 7 starter. if its as bad as vista basic you will have to pay for an upgrade. there are alot selling for under $300.00 read the fine print. there are alot that are refurbished.
