I recently bought a new computer online, its sitting in my room in pieces still. I decided I was going to build it today so I was looking through the motherboard book (GB-965P-DS3) and it has the controllers SATAII0 through to SATAII3 so 4 in total. It also has a controller GBSATAII0 and GBSATAII1

My two questions are Which controller should I plug it into? the normal SATAII or the GBSATAII?

Also My second question is I have never installed or used or touched a sata or sata2 HDD before and I was reading through the mobo book, its saying I have to install a driver for the hard drive at the installation of XP although I didnt bother buying a floppy drive cause they are out dated.... is there any other way i can install the driver without a floppy drive?

the driver issue wont matter you can run it in legacy IDE mode in the BIOS. As for the sata connectors I use the orange ones just normal sata2 I don't know how the purple gigabyte ones differ.
