alrighty, do I need a different cable for a SATA2 hard drive than a regular SATA cable? Can I use a SATA2 cable that is just a SATA device?

I just see cables selling as SATAII cables. If I have a hard drive that is 3.0 gb/sec. do I need a SATAII cable? I think it's all the same thing though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm leary. some say (SATAI)in the specs that they transfer up to 1.5gb/s. This wouldn't work with a SATAII 3.GB/S hard drive. right?

mechanical hdd's cannot read/write fast enough to send at the speed of a sata cable sata is probably going to be the standard though for the next 10 years as flash based storage can use the whole speed of a sata cable.
