Default S754 vs S939

Hey guys,

What are the main differances between amds Socket 754 and Socket 939?

my frnd is looking to upgrade and is tossing up between

Amd 64 3000+ S939
amd 64 3400+ S754

please do not suggest anything i just wanna know what the differance between these sockets are.

Search around the forums, this question hss been asked many times.

S939 supports:-

-Dual Channel RAM access (when using 2 identical DIMM's)
-The new line of Athlon 64 X2 (Dual Core) CPU's, thus it's futureproof

So, you really want to get the 3000+ if you want to upgrade your CPU in the future.
