ya i just realised i filled my 160gb hard drive this week, tryign to instal oblivion again, oh well im reformating in like the next month anyway because of new parts, il just wait a bit, and i got my 160gb wd mybook to store songs and pictures on, my parents do plan on buildign a media center pc with in the next year tho, because itl be cheaper then a blue ray player aswell as a hd dvd player.

All depends on how much storage space they plan to have. If its just a cheap "player" and not something they intend to record TV or rip dvd's to. Im still waiting to pick up the LG combo BD/HDD drive.
