Of course you can try, it's your computer. It will only damage your componants if it fails it's up to you to decide. Don't get thet hec unit as a replacement though.

My cousin used a Raidmax psu that came with his case and two years later it blew up. Crackled and smoked, then it fried his motherboard. Go with anything other than Raidmax please.

****, the drive is sold out.
Newegg.com - LG Black 22X (CAV) DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X (CAV) DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe - CD / DVD Burners
Would that work on my build? I am about to buy it now. Final price is like 1000 with Mail in rebates. xD

That's fine. There is never too much difference with optical drives.

Can I get this hard drive instead?
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG HD642JJ 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive (Bare Drive) - Internal Hard Drives
What is the difference between a bare hard drive and a regular one? Will my case fit with it?

There is no difference, that is a regular drive and it will fit fine. When it says "bare drive" what it means is that it doesn't come with anything else aka OEM.
