So is this a good build? If so, i'm going straight to my parents and telling them of the good news! they wont have to buy the sony vaio i posted earlier!

...but instead, THE AMD ATHLON 64 X2!! It's only 100$ more, but dam shipping costs another 150$. i'm over 250$.

i've decided to switch from 4200+ to 3800+, i figured wouldnt make much difference. is this a good idea?

if you want best bang for your buck, buy the parts from newegg and assmble it yourself. looks like you only need the tower.. no monitor or anything.. for $1200-$1300 you can get a better setup.

What about this setup:

NZXT LEXA-NP Black/ Silver Aluminum/Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

LITE-ON 16X DVD±R DVD Burner W/LightScribe and 5X DVD-RAM Write Black ATAPI/E-IDE Model SHM-165H6S

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro Cooling Fan with Heatsink

* Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 ST3250823AS 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive

CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model Twinx2048-3200c2pt

ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard

Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Model ADA3800BVBOX

eVGA 256-P2-N553-AX Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

it all comes out to about $1270 shipped. What else do I need besides OS? and are all the above things compatible with each other? i'm pretty sure they should be because # of pins and such are correct. do i need any excess wiring or does the tower case already come with all the plugs needed?

sorry that i put so many links, hope it's not against forum guidelines.
