I recently purchased Abode's CS5 for video editing, and this is my first computer build. I've been video editing for years, but previously I've never owned such powerful editing software. I'd like a system that can easily handle CS5 now and in the future, as I look forward to Adobe upgrades.

Your help and advice is sincerely appreciated. My questions and the basic info is at the top of this post. Next, toward the bottom, are the NOTES. Finally, I've included the system requirements for CS5.

I figure I can spend up to $2000 for hardware (and Windows 7, 64 bit), but cost is always a factor, and I want the biggest bang for the buck. I'm open to all suggestions.

I will have to spread my purchase of parts over about the next three months. My questions are:

(1) Will each part I've listed work with every other part?
(2) Based on your experience and expertise, would you change any of the components?
(3) Is there anything that could be considered essential that I'm missing?
(4) What other considerations should I give attention to?

(5) General question: What's the difference between a 2.5" and a 3.5" internal drive, e.g., a SATA III? Can I use either in a desktop?

Thank you very much!

NOTE #1: I originally planned on an AMD system, using (1) CPU -- AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2 GHz 6x512 KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Processor $229.99, and (2) MOBO -- ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AMD-890FX $225.99.

Instead of going with the AMD 6 Core, someone on another forum said that I'd be better off going with the Intel Quad. Do you agree?

NOTE #2: I'm kind of lost regarding what drive I should use as my second internal, upon which all my currently processing video files will reside. It seems like I would want something fast--right?--like a velocirapter, or a second SSD SATA III. It's seems to be a balance among storage space, speed, and cost. Got a good suggestion?
