I've always never really liked LCD monitors and chose to go with the tried and true CRT. However that was 5 years ago, and now times have changed and I think LCDs have gotten a bit better. I really hate ghosting in LCDs as well as dreadfully fear any dead pixels.

I was looking at the Gaming LCD ViewSonic VX922 19" with a 2ms response time. However all of the negative reviews in newegg says it still has ghosting and too big of a pixel size ( I don't even know what specification this is called ). Anyone have any recommendations for a good LCD monitor? Also I hate any wide screen monitors.

Lol no lcds have ghosting anymore, unless theyre made by a generic company like the ones they sell at wal-mart. Hate widescreen? Man i love widescreen, you can see so much more, i have an acer and its great.

Er I may not know too much about all the ins and outs of monitors but I have to disagree with you on the ghosting issue. The viewsonic monitor I mentioned is a very reputable company and the model I mentioned has 2 ms response time in an attempt to eliminate the ghosting effect, but theres many reviews that says it still ghosts. I'm willing to spend hopefully not more then 300 on a monitor ill be using for 5 years.

If you're speaking of this monitor,

I assure you, just by looking at the percentage of reviews that are bad, and by reading quite a few out of the 756 total reviews, that this is a very good lcd monitor. In fact, my brother has the same one - it looks **** good both in screen and just looking at it. Unfortunately, he did have one dead pixel, although it is very unnoticable.
I recommend it, but these monitors are quality aswell.

may i ask why no widescreen?

I really DREAD dead or stuck pixels, maybe I should just buy a LCD from costco since they have a great return policy. I don't like wide screen because the whole native resolution compared to the average resolution of games ( am a big gamer ) seem to offer some serious problems. A lot of games still to this day do not offer wide screen support.

ya that's true, not a lot of games support widescreen, but is still nice to have a monitor that IS widescreen.
