and 4gb is kinda overkill to gamers right now, but if you don't plan on upgrading for 2 or 3 years, 4gb is a good route

If you have socket 939 and their still available you could just get AMDX2 3800. I got mine for $60 and it overclocks great (held back by my ram and mobo but I have got to 2.8ghz on less than stock voltage).

Yes you may not be able to blow them up, but you can for sure break them, like I did to my MSI P35 Plat.
