Default Ram Swap

hey guys if a friend is giving me overclocked ram from hiscomputer (yes it is compatible with mine) will the ram stay overclocked when put in my computer?

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure you'd have to configure it in your own BIOS as the motherboards are different, and that is what controls the actual OC.

But I'd wait for a more technical answer from someone a little more knowledgeable on this question.

im confused a little, ram doesnt come overclocked. it is overclocked when you overclock it and/or your CPU.
so, if your friend is running an overclocked rig, the ram will not run the same if your bios settings are not the same.

That is what I figured, I guess I will need to start overclocking my e6420
