Default Ram question...

Just how much worse is 5-5-5-18 timings than 5-5-5-12 timings? How noticeable is the difference? The main items I'm talking about here are...
Corsair 2x2GB
And..
THESE Corsair 2x2GB
One's $25, the other's $45.

And, seems to be an obvious question, but are ram prices the most volatile of all computer technology? Twice now I've had to consider different ram because of fluctuations ($30 or more in a day) that shoot them out of my budget.

that is up to you to decide.

although if you can access your Bios and tinker around with it, I bet you can run the $25 set to 5-5-5-15 or lower

Haha no thanks, this won't be for my personal high-performance gaming machine, the girlfriend will be pretty miffed if I fry her ram haha.
