Default RAID questions

I tried researching on wilkipidia and really was still confused. I don't care what each one is and what it does but is there any one that can improve the performance of your hard drives. I just wanted to know if it makes them faster

My puter:
CPU - INTEL Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz
MEM - 4 GB (1BGX4) G.SKILL PC2 6400
HD - 2 SAMSUNG 500GB 7200 RPM
OS - Windows Vista 64Bit

Default Re: RAID questions

it doesent makethem faster by themselves. it either just copies everything from one onto the other, (on configuration) or it 'adds' them together, which increases the speed, but you need two of them. Its like opening up another lane on a road.
