Well like the title says i'm lookin for RAID opinions and i have some answers to verify (i've searched too just want some varification). Well i ahve a IDE Maxtor DiamondMax 9 80GB, now newegg does not carry it but they carry the IDE Maxtor DiamondMax 10 80GB that has same cache and everything as the drive i have. those two drives will work in RAID 0 right? Also, would it be better to get the Maxtor DM 10 and RAID 0 it or just get a WD Rapter 36.7GB? I'm leanin towards teh Maxtor since its $50 cheaper and i'm kind of on a budget and i dont want to go from a X1800XT to a X1800GTO or a Opty 144 to a 3200+.

they would probably work but it is not guaranteed. the rule of thumb for RAID 0 is to buy the drives at the same time, that way you should get the longest life out of the array also because neither drive is more likely to fail than the other
